Seamworks Moji Pants Sewing Pattern

Hello Everyone,

I finally completed my pants sewing pattern from Seamwork.com ! When I saw the pants pattern it was love at first sight. I had to have them and make myself a pair in denim fabric. It has been a while since I’ve sewn any garments so on the Seamwork website description for the pants it said that #seamworkmoji is a breeze to sew pattern that will take about 3 hours to sew. Instantly, I purchased the pattern, took my measurements, cut the pattern and fabric then began to sew. That is when I realized that there were a few fit issues that I needed to adjust. Boy, I wish I would have used muslin first before cutting my fashion fabric.

Pattern Review

Here are where the fit needed adjusting for the pants according to my figure.:

The Moji pants pattern also have a low waistline that is not very flattering on my figure. I raised the waistline a bit work for the perfect fit.

Was the pattern easy to sew?  Yes, It is perfect for an intermediate to experienced seamstress and should take less than 3 hours to sew.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern?  I love the finished product!  Some alterations were needed.

Would you sew it again? Yes, it’s a comfortable pair of pants.

Sewing Project | Seamwork Patterns Moji Pants

I was searching for some great clothing patterns in which I can build a great summer and fall wardrobe recently.  That is when I came across Seamwork Pattern website then instantly fell in love with their Moji pants pattern!

Moji Pants Sewing Project

I had over 4 yards of denim in my fabric stockpile that would be perfect for this sewing project.

I measured hip and waist and compared it to the pattern body measurements then went up one size since I wanted to add extra room since I am very curvy and shapely.

I cut out the fabric using the pattern then started to sew the parts together.  That is when I realized that I should have  adjusted the pattern to the fit my body’s figure and used a muslin before cutting the main fabric.  When you are sewing using woven fabric always test your garments on muslin before using the main fabric. This will save you time and money.

I am so in love with the Moji Seamwork pattern and will be posting pictures in the future of the finished product.

Pattern Review | McCall’s M7377 Girls Shirt & Shorts

Pattern Review

I had a stash of great fun fabrics that I wanted to use for one of my sewing projects. The fabrics consisted of pink leopard print and one with bright bold colors that my daughter will love to wear.   While looking through my collection of sewing patterns I came across  McCall’s M7377 Girls  pattern that I had for some time that I wanted to put to great use.  It’s a “learn to sew” pattern perfect for beginners who have an interest in making girls clothing or those who have little to no time to sew.  A  quick sewing project that will take you no time to create.

Pattern review

Bright bold fun fabrics are perfect for this sewing pattern!

Pattern review

As you can see, I made a pair of shorts in leopard print. This took me less than an hour to sew.

Pattern review

Sewing the shirt took a little more time just about 2 hours since there were more pattern pieces involved.

It should take about 3 hours to sew a pair of shorts and a shirt.  Add a little more time if you are rusty and a true beginner with sewing.

Suggested fabrics: Medium to lightweight fabrics such as crepe, chambray, cotton, cotton blends, denim, and linen.

Notions needed: One 1/2″ button, fusible interfacing or optional  1  1/4″ yard of  1 1/2″ to 2″ lace trim for the shirt.   One yard of 3/4″  elastic for the shorts

Happy Sewing!

Easy Lined Tote Bag | How To Sew Tutorial

Easy lined tote bag

Easy Lined Tote Bag

I came across this tote bag tutorial at Bijou Lovely website and instantly fell in love with it!  It is the a great size to carry my belongings when I am on the go plus she gives easy to follow step by step instructions. Whether you need a tote bag that is stylish, to use for shopping or  just the right size to carry your gym clothes this tote bag will be perfect for you.

The finished tote bag is pretty big 13″ wide x 7″ deep x 14″ high!

Tips when creating this tote bag:

  1. Topstitch the straps and base fabric of the tote bag even if you can not sew a straight stitch. It will give your tote bag a more polished professional finished product.
  2. Use Interfacing when creating the tote bag even when you think it is not necessary. Interfacing will give your bag a great shape, reinforce the bag and help minimize wear and tear of the bag overtime.

Materials To Buy:

1 yard main/outer fabric: (I recommend home decor or canvas fabrics for the bag.)

1 yard base/lining fabric: (cotton fabrics works well for the lining (you can also use home decor). I  recommend  home decor or canvas for the base.)

4 yards Interfacing: Sturdy interfacing such as  Pellon Fusible #931TD works best.

Contrasting thread (for topstitching)
