Seamworks Moji Pants Sewing Pattern
I finally completed my pants sewing pattern from Seamwork.com ! When I saw the pants pattern it was love at first sight. I had to have them and make myself a pair in denim fabric. It has been a while since I’ve sewn any garments so on the Seamwork website description for the pants it said that #seamworkmoji is a breeze to sew pattern that will take about 3 hours to sew. Instantly, I purchased the pattern, took my measurements, cut the pattern and fabric then began to sew. That is when I realized that there were a few fit issues that I needed to adjust. Boy, I wish I would have used muslin first before cutting my fashion fabric.
Here are where the fit needed adjusting for the pants according to my figure.:
- Waist – I have a small waistline compared to my chest and hips.
- Hips – I have full hips, therefore, the waistline needed to be taken in a bit.
- Protruding derriere – There is not enough length in the back crotch area causing my buttocks to pull the back of the pants every time I take a seat.
- Full Thighs – Pants catching the thigh every time I take a seat.
The Moji pants pattern also have a low waistline that is not very flattering on my figure. I raised the waistline a bit work for the perfect fit.
Was the pattern easy to sew? Yes, It is perfect for an intermediate to experienced seamstress and should take less than 3 hours to sew.
What did you like or dislike about the pattern? I love the finished product! Some alterations were needed.
Fabric Used: Stretch Denim
Would you sew it again? Yes, it’s a comfortable pair of pants.
Even though there were quite a few adjustments that needed to be made to the #mojipants pattern before stitching up the pants it was well worth the time! They are so comfortable and one of the best pair of pants I’ve had in a long time! My completed Moji pants will get a lot of wear this year!
