How to Make a Tooth Fairy Pillow

Tooth Fairy Pillow
A tooth fairy pillow makes the perfect gift for a child for the holidays. It has a pocket that holds the tooth and is small enough to fit under a child’s pillow. This project is a great project that you or your child will enjoy creating.

Fabric and Supplies needed:

  • ΒΌ yd of two complimentary fabrics
  • Recommended Fabrics: Brocade, Silk Dupioni, Linen, Cotton, Canvas
  • Pillow stuffing ( Polyester Fiber)
  • Thread to match Fabric
  • Tailors Chalk or Fabric Marker
  • Rotary ruler
  • Rotary cutter or dressmakers scissors
  1. Cut a 6″ square and a 4″ square from fabric #1.
  2. Cut a 6″ square from second fabric (fabric #2)
  3. Use the chalk to draw an X to divide the 6″ square for the second fabric (fabric #2). Cut fabric along chalk lines into 4 triangles.
  4. Using the second fabric (fabric #2) cut a 4″ square for the pocket.
  5. Create a triangle by folding and pressing the 4″ square in half. Set aside.
  6. Place the 2 triangle fabrics on top of the 4″ square fabric #1. ( Triangles should be on opposite sides on one another with tips of triangle pointing towards the center of the 4″ square fabric. Stitch triangle edges together using a 1/4 ” seam allowance. Stitch the remaining triangles to the opposite sides of each other. Press seam towards triangles.
  7. Place the folded triangle on top of the right side of one triangle lining up the folded edge of the pocket with the seam of the triangle square. Stitch the triangles together. This piece is the pillow top. Arrange to a square.
  8. Place the top on the back side with right sides together. Stitch them around the edge leaving a 11/2 in opening.
  9. Trim corners and seams. Turn pillow right side out and stuff with polyester fiber.
  10. Slip stitch Close.
